A renovation that works for you
There’s more to choose than the colour
Colour and board size matter, but so do foot traffic, cleaning and exposure to moisture. We discuss how you use each room to make a useful comparison between materials. A bedroom, hallway and kitchen may call for different choices.
Start with the surface beneath
Before laying a floor, we check the condition and level of the base, the available height and compatibility with the chosen system. That helps establish whether the existing floor needs removing or the base needs preparation first.
Think through the edges, too
Skirting boards, door frames and transitions to other floors are part of the job. We consider them when defining the proposal, along with moving furniture and the order in which rooms will be updated.
WE KNOW YOU HAVE QUESTIONS
Questions about this service
What is the difference between wood and laminate flooring?
Wood flooring has a natural wood surface, while laminate uses a printed decorative layer with a protective finish. Their properties and care needs differ. Compare the specific product, intended use and budget as well as its appearance before choosing.
Does my existing floor need to be removed?
Not always. It depends on the new flooring system and the condition, moisture and level of the base. Door clearances and transitions to other rooms also matter. We check these details before agreeing how to install it.
Do I need to empty the property for new flooring?
The working area needs to be clear, but the arrangements depend on the rooms involved and the space available. Tell us if the home is furnished and occupied so we can discuss moving furniture and the order of the work.
